The Nagpur police's crime branch has taken action against thieves and burglars by solving nine cases in two operations, bringing relief to the citizens. In one operation, two burglars were caught, and seven cases were resolved. The city police have recently intensified efforts to combat vehicle thefts and burglaries, which had been a growing concern among the residents. During the investigations, the police apprehended suspects Ramakant alias Rambhau Shahu (27) and Narendra alias Bali Bokde (23), who confessed to their involvement in multiple burglaries and vehicle thefts. Stolen items worth Rs6.54 lakh were recovered from Mukesh Nipani's residence in Vaishali Nagar. Additionally, three miscreants, Akash Nagrale (27), Yogesh Chavhan (25), and Devendra Thakre (24), were arrested by crime branch unit 5 for their involvement in two cases of vehicle thefts. The arrests were made with the help of CCTV footage and on-ground intelligence.Two stolen vehicles have been recovered and a stolen bike used in the crime has been seized, totaling Rs1.20 lakh in value. It has been reported that a large number of vehicle thefts take place in busy or market areas of the city. Additionally, most burglaries are reported in the city's outer regions, under the jurisdiction of police stations including Hudkeshwar, Wathoda, Pratap Nagar, among others. Residents have requested increased night patrols by the police to prevent such incidents. Authorities have advised citizens to inform their neighbors and local police stations if they plan to leave the city, enabling both the police and community to keep a watchful eye on their properties.
